Researcher / MD, PhD
Resident doctor in Medical Genetics and teaching assistant and researcher within the Medical Genetics discipline at UMF Cluj. She graduated in 2012 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of medicine and pharmacy “Iuliu Hațieganu”, and shortly thereafter she started to teach in this discipline. Since her 2nd year of medical studies, she was a member of the medical genetics research team, she took part in many molecular genetics studies concerning various diseases or genetic epidemiology, with a personal preference towards the field of immunogenetics. She obtained her PhD degree at the University Medical Centre Nijmegen, Radboud, Netherlands. Her area of scientific interest is mechanisms of immunological diseases (autoimmune and autoinflammatory) as well as their interrelationship with individual genetic susceptibility factors. The latest research concerns mainly the field of gout and hyperuricaemia as a model of interaction between metabolism, inflammation, genetics and epigenetics, with interest in the implementation of functional genetic methods.
The “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Victor Babeș Street no. 8, PC 400023, as a beneficiary, announces the project titled: HINT „Hyperuricaemia – induced INflammation: Targeting the central role in rheumatic and cardiovascular diseases” approved for financing under the Competitiveness Operational Programme 2014-2020.
