Simona Rednic is professor of rheumatology and internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hatieganu” Cluj. She had an impressive experience in teaching (rheumatology and clinical examination, semiology), having responsibilities in different academic levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral). She is the head of the Rheumatology Department at the Emergency County Hospital Cluj , where are diagnosed and treated an important number of patients with various rheumatic conditions, but especially inflammatory ones. Her main interests domains are scleroderma, lupus, vasculitis, rare musculoskeletal conditions, biologic therapy, mycrocristaline arthritides, and gout, musculoskeletal imagistic, etc,
Dr Rednic is for many years in the board of the Romanian Society of Rheumatology (vicepresident, general secretary) . She is founder member of the EUSTAR (European Scleroderma Trials and Research) and leads the only Romanian center for rare musculoskeletal conditions part of the ERN ReCONNET (European Reference Network for Connective and Musculoscheletal Diseases). She is part of international groups for scleroderma, lupus, rare diseases and gout. She was director or member in many national and some international grants. She was and still is principal investigator for more then 50 clinical studies in rheumatology with innovative molecules. She is editor of Romanian Journal of Rheumatology (Revista Romana de Reumatologie) and reviewer for many international journals. She is author or coauthor for more then 60 scientific papers published in prestigious international journals.
The “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Victor Babeș Street no. 8, PC 400023, as a beneficiary, announces the project titled: HINT „Hyperuricaemia – induced INflammation: Targeting the central role in rheumatic and cardiovascular diseases” approved for financing under the Competitiveness Operational Programme 2014-2020.
